Hi, All:
Got to spend some time hunting a Civil War camp and skirmish site here in Missouri with my trusty F 75. Bullets were few and far between, but other interesting period and later relics were "saved". Found four IH pennies, only one with a readable date. 1899. Found a wagon reins guide and part of a harmonica reed. Dug a broken shoe toe protector and a nice heavy bass heel plate. Found two Sharps bullets. One dropped and one shot, along with a couple pieces of flat folded lead. Also uncovered two broken eating utensils. One pewter and one silver plated. The plated piece was marked "Lakeside Pat '04". Did a Google search and found a site for Lakeside silver plated flatware that showed a picture of the design called "Holly" that was patented in 1904. It's amazing what you can find researching on the internet.
Thanks for lookin' and keep on diggin'
