Missouri Camp Gives Up Three IH Pennies

Hi, All:

Took my trusty F 75 out for a long hunt at the new (to me) camp and was able to pull three Indian Head Pennies. That's the good news. The bad news they were too corroded to see a date on any of them. They weren't of the "fatty" design of the 1859 minting, so there's no way to date them as Civil War era, or not. Was able to pull two nice Sharps carbine bullets, as well as a very nice shot Merrill carbine bullet. Sharps are my favorite bullet. Any of the variations. Found a complete General Service button, as well as a few other interesting relics. The weather here in Missouri has been absolutely beautiful of late. Hope it continues.

Thanks for lookin' and keep on diggin'

With the Indian's, try using a sharp pencil to loosen the crud and most of them you can get a date off them.

Good hunt. Thanks for posting. CCH
