Missouri Battlefield Gives Up Silver

Hi, all:

Hit my favorite spot for a few days and culled a few more relics for the trash. Been hunting a feed lot that's about three fourths the size of a football field. Bare ground with lots of cow pies and horse biscuits. On one corner, along the road is where after the War a stage coach stop and hotel were located. Found a few pistol bullets, a broken spur, a toe tap, a suspender clip and a decorative brass piece. The biggest find was an 1877 quarter. I've hunted every square foot of this feed lot years before, but with new detector technology (Garrett AT Gold) and a smaller coil, I re hunted the whole area again. Actually, the area where the stage coach stop was, I've hunted it at least two other times before. The interesting thing about the silver find was it is almost exactly where I found an 1876 quarter thirty years ago. Lightning can strike twice in the same spot.

Thanks for looking and keep on diggin'

Thats a great find. My bud found a 1853 dated seated dime on a battlefield. You can probably think that was in a soldiers pocket when he fell.

Nice finds! A seated coin is on my wish list. I've got a lot of old silver, but seated ones
have eluded me. Congrats!

Bingo! Great find.

Very nice stuff, Jimmy! Hunting the old spots are about all we have left here in south Arkansas.
