Missouri Batlefield Gives Up A Few Relics

Hi, All:

Got to spend a few days hunting one of my favorite places with my trusty AT Gold. Been hunting this Missouri Battlefield off and on since 1981. Have dug over a thousand bullets, 85 artillery shell fragments, an unexploded 10 lb. Parrott shell and a 6 lb solid shot. It's been good to me. As the years go by, it's getting harder to find relics. I've had the privilege of having the run of a 270 acre farm that a large portion of the battlefield is on, and I've hunted it hard. Here's a few of my latest finds from last week. Nothing too great, but at 71 years old, I still get a thrill digging something that was last touched by a civil War soldier.

Thanks for looking and keep on diggin'

Very nice. Every piece counts.

Thanks. Over the years finds get harder and harder to come by. Twenty years ago this would have been a disappointing hunt. Today it's a pretty good trip.

Ain't that the truth.

Good to see you're still getting after it, jimmyk !

Thanks. Love to relic hunt, but every year gets physically harder when you hit 70. Hate getting old, but it beats the alternative. Going to give it another go this week. Wish me luck.

Keep on diggin',
