Missing Serial Numbers on 8 inch coil???

Hi Guys

I just purchased a 8 inch mono coil for the ATX (450usd) - and wanted to check in with others on the forum that have purchased the coil. It seems mine has no serial numbers? Are yours the same?

(if you look at the stock coil you will see a tiny sticker on the coil (where the shaft joins the coil).

Just want to see if yours is the same?

Dale

Did you purchased from authorised dealer or from private person... Coil number is under connection shaft pivot point on sticker... maybe sticker comes out or someone remove it. This coil work good? Did you check it... Maybe this is Recon model coil....

no it was purchased from an authorised dealer - thats the reason I wanted to check. it works fine but seemed odd there is no serial number - anyone else with an ATX 8 inch coil same issue???

The coil works fine - just noticed lack of serial when I went to fill in the warranty online - so I have popped the dealer an email and if no response will also email garrett.

Same here, My recent 8" ATX coil has no serial number. I'm in contact with the authorized disturber at the moment, It was dropped shipped for him from Garrett & Jobe Wholesale (US Distributor for Garrett).

Maybe some didn't have them?

i spoke to the dealer he said it was normal for the coils not to have serials. Oh well. I am yet to get used to the 8 inch coil - however hope to have some time off today and maybe use that one :) Just don't really know how Garrett's warranty process works without serial numbers etc - seems very trusting on both parties behalf. Maybe just a concern as it is a 450USD coil, versus the normal $130 or so....

In my opinion, it's because everyone is getting the same exact coil that is on the recon pro. I could be wrong but I would have to see proof to believe it. It makes no sense to me how garrett could possibly know which coil to ship when garrett themselves list them as the same part #. I bet Paul's 8" on his recon would have worked perfectly on his atx but I also don't blame him for not wanting to try it when he was told they will not work. If I had an atx I would be the first on here to let everyone know whether it is or isn't....

Sounds interesting... maybe the 8 inch coil is the same model for ATX and Recon... if they don't have any serial labels... and Garrett didn't want to sell this information to public. But if both machines works with the same frequency this is possible in my opinion.
