Minnies & Brass

Well-known member
I found these recently, checked out a new spot & only found junk. Supposedly a big corps camped there, could have fooled me. Went back to my old spot & dug the minnies & brass there. Thanks for looking. HH

Old sites are just like a old pair of shoes, always comfy. I always find more things in my old spots..................Mark

you know you can walk through a camp fairly easily and dig nothing CW. I did that on a division camp with 2 friend hunting with me and a brigade camp with 1 other hunter with me. Lord knows how many small camp I have walked through. Both of the above camps were vrigin camps when I walked through them and you would not believe the relics that camp out of them. Another camp a friend found 2 of them had walked through the middle of a BIG cavalry camp and on the outside edge dug a pistol bullet then started doing figure 8's and got back in the camp. It is really not that hard to walk through a camp so you might want to walk the area coming from several different areas. the relcs are usually in lines.

Good luck

I have been told this before. I have also hunted camps that have been pounded to the point that you would swear that no CW activity ever went on there.

Good luck

I think you should still cover that probable Corps camp again. At least satisfy your curiosity. But from what I see, you have no shortage of productive sites in your neighborhood!

I'm not giving up on the area yet. Just might no be in it yet. Two inches is as good as two miles.

I am yet to find a virgin camp site. Still looking and hopeful. I guess i've always made my living on hunted out camp sites. Nice digs. CCH
