Minnesota Road Trip Coin Pics

Hello One and All,

If you've been reading the forums you know I made a trip to Minnesota and a couple of trips to North Dakota to see Rick(ND) and James(ND).

I didn't have a camera with me so now that I am home I took some pics for a post and boast.

Here is the Silver

And the Indian Heads with one V- Nickel

I found three key date coins this trip. Pretty darn lucky.

First one was this 1892-O Barber

Next key coin was a 1908-S Indian Head found at a park where some construction was being done. I found a 1909-S last year in even better shape.

And the last one was found when I met up with James(ND) and we did some detecting one very hot June day. It's a 1922 plain; I had a couple of coin experts compare it with their slabbed coins of the same date and they believe it is the real deal. Wish it was in better shape.

Also found what I think is a more recently made(1890-1920?) Henry type rifle cartridge- .44 rimfire. This one does have a U headstamp, most of the Henry Cartridges I found have no head stamp. The tag is for a fishing net. One of people who's yard I detected said he and his father used to net cisco at this location at this time, might be off one of their nets.

Got a few more pics but I'm at the limit so perhaps will go up on another post.

geesh...another awsome post...I just read Bryces and now you...Awsome finds...its good to see someone getting them before the bulldozers do...:clapping:

Thats the most Great finds I have seen in years. "Fantastic", Thanks for sharing. I have SE on the way. Can't wait to try it after seeing this. How many days of hunting did you do. Was it public ground or private home sites? just curious if you do not mind answering.

Glad to hear that you had a few experts look at that 1922 Plain Wheat Cent and also agree that it is an original Error Coin. You sure did well with the Key Dates when you were up and for how little time in detecting hours it took you to find them. It sure was a fun time to see you again and also do a little hunting with you even though it was a HOT day out. Hopefully if you return sometime in the fall when it is cooler out, we can hook up again and maybe do some road tripping together. Hope there is some good sites that have opened up for you back home and PM me when you are back in the neighborhood. Continued Success, Good Luck and HH.

This is from a total of 10-15 hours detecting.

The half dollar came from an old cabin site near our lake home. The Walker half, one merc, one barber dime, and one IH came from this site.

I found 9 IHs-including the 1908-S, a couple of mercs, and the other barber dime at a playground site that once held the courthouse at my home town in MN.

And when I met up with James we hit city parks and church/school sites.
