Ministry ... Using Your Detector

Okay ... I've been hunting for a couple of years and haven't found anything of significant value. Which is no big deal.

Then the other day a picture came into my mind about using this hobby as a way to tell others about Jesus Christ. Setup a place in a church and talk to kids or others interested to hear about "treasure hunting". Maybe show pictures of what others have found. put on display some of the interesting artifacts i've found, and eventually turn it toward finding the "true treasure" that people need to seek - Jesus Christ.

Has anyone tried this?

Thanks
Mike

you have given me an idea for future talks if they come up. Here's my collection of dug crosses from over the years, all gold & silver. Seems like a direct link from finding the cross to finding the Lord. Thanks, steve in so az

I share with all kinds of groups. I have not turned it fully into a gospel message yet, But did use it to start the men's ministry up again at my church!

My friend in KS lives in rual Linwood Ks. Close to Desoto Ks. It is about 15 miles west of KC Ks.

That's interesting ... I used to live in Olathe until 2004 when I moved. Nice area and the potential of detecting up there is good. Even some civil war type stuff if you look hard.

Thanks
