Minilab Musketeer Advantage versus Garrett Ace 250??

Coops

New member
Hello everyone. I am new to metal detecting and want to buy a good detector. I am tossing up between 2 detectors. Which do you think is the better for money. "Minlab Musketeer Advantage" or the "Garrett Ace 250"?
If you have personally used both of these detectors I would appreciate your honest opinions!

If you want depth and discrimination then the Minelab is hard to beat. If you want depth reading, VDI display (the toys) etc then the Garrett is well featured at a low price and ideal for cherry picking in the local park.
The one disadvantage of the Advantage is that its still a bit heavy compared with the Ace 250 or Tesoros though you can hip mount it. Its big plus is you have a ground balance control so will cope with all land sites and discrimination is excellent and can be used at minimum whilst allowing iron to be identified or can be wound up if necessary on really contaminated sites whilst still not losing copper and silver coins.
