Mineralized rocky beach-littered with pulltabs & bottlecaps...Hows that for a 1st test for the AT Pro...

And I must say-I am impressed-

I did some at home testing on my new unit from Bart @ Big Boy Hobbies. I just found his online Amazon link & ordered from there-simple easy & a trusted seller.

The connections were fairly easy to assemble-I am used to such things but these are metal & very solid. One had an O ring try & pop out when I didn't align it but once it was in once not an issue.

Both coils are awesome-in my test garden I have some very tough targets-and a layer of mineralized gravel for drainage.

Lets just say few-if any machine can hit them all. The tough one is a fake honker "game" ring. I buried it @ a true 9" and that was 2 years ago. They don't sink-but the grass-soil layer on constantly in the PNW. So I'd guess 10" easy. Oh-and I gotz lotz of EMI...Commiecast & large powerlines etc...

This is the easiest to get the coins-and did a good ID on my deep nickel!. That's tough & this one has no problems. Testing with hot rocks gathered from my local river beaches showed a lot of promise. The AT Pro performed better than everthing-including my Tesoro in all metal (crow pie?-yumm!). Even the Sovereign XS had issues with the bigger rocks where the AT pro still gave a signal.

So-off to the beach.

In the real world I did the usual dig the iffies etc...I had a major challenge as this was party central. Bottlecaps & tabs everywhere in layers...

I managed a few settings-I tried for the most noticeable rejection to caps-Pro custom 22 disc & no iron audio. This allowed me to get a nice pile of coins & even a few baubles on a beach I had just done my best with the Silver U-max a few days before. No gold-but I did get a fake silver earing -small-from UNDER a large rock-in this area that is IMPRESSIVE!.

And I did get a few deep tabs in the water that had me digging-so I know if there was a ring I'd have had a very good shot at it.

Today I did dirt-a field I know well. I found a newly mowed area & scored a 1st issue scout slide-#1 with a riveted strap.

Then hit the tots-dug a whisper of a low signal for a soda can part-at the end of my pro-pointer so 9"...Very good with the low conductors.

I saw a small GOLD!! earing on the ground. It was near a pole so I was not surprised it had no signal. Nice stones & needs testing..

So I found a clear spot to do the old VDI check (where have I heard this story before...)And I put it on a clean spot--->Nada...Almost no signal unless scrubbing. It's common for small gold-especially non-connected circles AKA earrings to ring up funky. But these are very thin 14K & have a layer of stones in the middle. Not one of my detectors would hit it for what I would call a dig signal. So not the AT Pro's bad & a nice surface find. But she's still a technical virgin.

I also hope I'll finally find where the Buffalo roam. Seriously-I've only found one in the 4 years I've been detecting. I don't get a lot of silver but I credit that to the detectorists before me.

I specialize in small solid dig it up. And the AT Pro is an awesome machine. Added on the last edit-I promise!!-I LOVE the way this machine spits at zincolns. It reacts just how I set my hopped up Tracker 4.

It will take a while to get the hang of good deeps in trash. but this detector does all it can to let you know what it see's. And some dang clever circuitry in dealing with heavy mineralization.

Magic? No but close as I've tried yet.
Edit to add-I emptied my trash pouch twice before my snack break which left me with the pile you see in the trash picture. The large rusty was a huge deep hole I just hadda keep going....

 a good day for you

Great report DF! :clapping::please: That's a good real world write up from a guy that's been paying attention and running this thing in a variety of sites. I am also impressed at how hard it hits deep nickels, you will get your sought after buffalo with this thing. The zincoln issue has me somewhat perplexed, that scratchy awful signal, I hope somebody pipes up and tells us that a huge class ring doesn't sound like that on the pro. I run mine at Pro 40 iron off, and got that nice gold chain clean with it. and some small rings, so I don't think it misses much if anything. Those 50's signals really bang in hard and stop a guy dead in his tracks.
Mud

how did the machine perform in wet sand - salt water?
was the sand blonde or grey?
