Mineral Found with Whites 4900/D :whites:

What was the VDI number on the detector?
Is it heavy and does a magnet attact to it,
Was there more of it?
Looks like nickel and bronze.

I think you have found a nice sample of Galena crystal, also known as lead sulfide. Native lead is rare and isometric. Galena is mostly cubic in structure like yours. If you have children, keep it away from them and don't ingest. Wash hands after handling. Lead is poisonous.

Bri, you've found an attractive specimen of galena/pyrite. Galena is a major lead ore, often containing silver. (Most "silver" mines are also lead mines, and vice versa). Pyrite is the "fool's gold" of folklore. Pretty piece. HH jim

The mineral is not magnetic and I haven't weighed it yet but it's very heavy for its size. The bronze color that doesn't shine is rock and not metallic. I have not been back to find more but it doesn't seem like a mineral native to Florida. I did find pictures of Galena and I do believe you're right. However, that type of mineral comes from Missouri according to what I've read. Thanks everyone for your responses.

I would find a gem and mineral place to take it too. Maybe a club in your area? They could Identify it for sure.
