Mineral chip

Newfydad

New member
I recently bought a GTI-2500 Pro Package with extra 11.5 coil, headphones etc from a fellow who bought it new but never used it (long story). Now while reading the forum I see references to a new 'mineral chip'. Is there an easy way to find out if my machine has this mineral chip?

Look at your serial number. The beginning of it is the year it was made. If it was made in the last 2 or 3 years, you already have the chip. Mine was made in 1999 so I did not have it and added it to my detector.

If you are unsure phone Garrett with the detector numbers and they'll tell you if it has the chip.:garrett:

Contact Melinda Harper at Melinda.Harper@garrett.com and give her the serial number and she can tell you.
