here's the site to Minelab's new detector....

waterproof... FBS tech... GPS tracking... wireless... PC mapping... amazing no glare color display...

The screen looks like it's 1/4" thick!... Looks like my ETrac on steroids....

C'mon Fisher or Garrett !... your both go for a new top of the line machine...

Just to be overly critical (I actually like Minelab but had perhaps hoped for something different) from my Danish perspective:

Waterproof: As long as the coil is waterproof I have no need for that. And I know only a couple of people who might find that useful
FBS: Not something I see as an advantage and the majority of people I know who have used FBS detectors have changed for something with a better reactivity
GPS: Have to wait to see more detailed specifications. Could be useful, could be useless. We always use GPS here anyway so it's just a question if the build-in GPS can repleace what we use now
Wireless: Big advantage but from some of the photos I've seen it's not the most elegant solution. It seems like you have to have a small unit connected to your headphones and then place that in a pocket or something.
PC mappping: Have to wait for details like with the GPS
Color display: Really see no need for that but okay, just as long as it doesn't eat to much power. Haven't heard anything about it being non glare but I sure would hope it is.

And I have to wonder what it weighs. It look a bit heavy and I saw 5 pounds mentioned somewhere.

looks a tad too heavy with that battery box ,but US makers will have to get their act together as its another big leap in technology that leaves them behind once again .

Would venture a guess that it doesn't.

Yawn!!!! Color display (V3i)....Waterproof (AT Pro)......Wireless (Deus)....GPS (I know my location already)...PC Mapping (????)
After all these years of waiting for Minelab to release a new unit......this is IT ? Where's the innovation over existing technology to improve finds ?
