did anyone here that they are coming out with a new one this year
I was told there is something in the works from minelab rep

I heard the same thing on the hush-hush. Rumor or truth....nothing has been released yet.

I doubt that there is a new machine coming. Maybe an update to the Excalibur with a straight shaft, better headphones, 1600 MAH batteries, changeable coils and the Mel Parker pin point / discriminate button but a new machine? I doubt it very much.

Minelab should look at changing that gosh awefull factory shaft. I think the designer of that shaft was into S&M and loves to see people in pain. The ergonomics of that thing is just so bad. They should look into the most popular upgrades and modifications that people do and make them standard.

The shaft was made for divers. Most Excal owners never get further than the wet sand so I find it ironic.

I asked the same question a month or so of a friend that attended the Minelabs Atlantic City Meeting of the Big Guys........my answer from him.......Hey Joe...Minelab told me there is no new type of water machine that will be here "anytime soon". So they quite possibly could be working on something in development - but's it's far off in the future.
