I will be going to Vegas for some R & R in about a week. It it worth paying a visit to Minelab. Do they have any displays, it will only be abut a 5 mile drive.
Thanks

Goldnugget;
I guess the short answer is Yes it would be worth stopping in my op. We have been there about 5 times over the years. Back in Gus s day s it was really interesting because he would answer all your questions and visit with you about metal detecting and was one of the best metal detector chasers I ever met. Today they are ? less into the customer and the visits but it should still be worth seeing the models and talking with whom ever is in charge that day.
We had the op to meet gus, sandy, and two dif tech on our dif visits. The tech guys are great also they can answer your in depth questions about machine operations. .
Would suggest you go by Docs and meet them guys and Gus is there working last time we were there. Its easy to find give a call and they will direct you. THis is the place that has the coiltec coils.
If you go to minelab watch close or you will miss. It is not the huge bilboard you expect. If you dont have a gps go out the strip past the airport and turn left it is on you right a couple of miles in a real fancy complex.
Docs isn t to far from the strip either but cant remember the exact directions to his place.
Good Luck; Good Luck in Vagas to.
Cry til Minelab gives you a hat or coffee cup; at least you will have something left to show for your trip to Vegas :)
If you are into cars you can check out the Shelby place out by the race track ; small but interesting piece of history;

Grumpy, Thank you for the information. I think now it will be a Good Visit to Minelab. I used to talk to Sandy and everyone else if I have a problem

Maybe I need a Western Style Hat, since I'll be out West. This would be a Good Promotion for Minelab. I could wear it to diffent Sponsored Hunts when I attend them.
Thanks

About as western as you need out here anymore is just a ball cap :shrug: besides did you ever try and metal detect in a Ka Boy hat? :goodnight:
Make them give you a new minelab ball cap. They should for your effort to come and see them.
Gus was before Sandy and if you go over to Docs and meet him you will find a very nice gentleman who is really into the metal detecting, especially for nuggets.
Good Luck
Grumpy

PS if your sight seeing there is also a nice metal detecting store just a couple of blocks off the strip (cant remember the name but you should be able to find by phone book) They carrie a good selection of maps, digging tools and ect . a worth wile small shop to visit. Friendly and knowlegeable too.
