** Minelab stepped up! ** :clapping:

Just wanted to give everyone an update on my Excal II that I had sent back...

After sending it back in March and not getting it back until late May, I had the same issue again in when Earl came thru.... So out of frustration I called Minelab on the drive home, and finally got through to the new service manager Ewout Kozel. After a nice conversation with him (not once did I ever get nasty), I explained my position of a brand new unit having to be sent back twice in four months to be repaired. So I shipped it back and waited a few days after they received it, and gave Ewout a call (he is an extremely reasonable person). He said they did indeed receive my Excal and were trying to reproduce the problem. The next day he called me back and said they were able to reproduce the problem and something was definitely wrong with the unit. He said he was working with the sales team to get me a new unit. Well... Ewout was true to his word, and Minelab is standing behind their product and are shipping me a new unit today.

I know that Minelab takes a lot of heat (from me included) on the message boards, I just also want to give them the credit they deserve in this case. Just remember the old adage...You catch more flies with honey...;)

I catch more flies with a blow torch :hot::hot::hot: .....But it sure it nice to know that Minelab is starting to step up !!.......That is really good news and I'm happy for you that you're getting a new machine .....Gotta give credit where credit is due !!.....Jim

Great to here this, I can say with certainty Minelab is hearing the complaints and stepping up to the plate. I can't go further into detail but they took care of me personally. After my Excalibur was fixed, in what both parties felt was unreasonable amount of time. they came through. steve

Steve,
I know you were pretty upset , and I don't blame you .....Glad it all worked out for you ......Sncerely, Jim

Not before time in my opinion, had you sent it to Ireland it would have been quicker, done right and probably found enough for a new machine by now.
They should have got thier finger out before now, its easy to get a bad reputation but not easy to turn it back to good as the past is always there creating doubt
