Minelab Sovereign GT VS Fisher CZ70

I had the CZ7 before I used the Sovereign XS and found the CZ loved rusty iron where the Sovereign hate rusty iron so I didn't dig much of it with the Sovereign. The CZ some really like as it is easier to use and don't have the multi tones of the Sovereign which does confuse many, but over all once you get to learn the Sovereign and remember you have to swing the coil slower the Sovereign for me will ID better, get much better depth for the coins i hunt and see coins close to iron better too. Like I said before the Sovereigns give you more info with the tones, meter readings and doing the Sovereign wiggle over just the one target and let the operator decide whether do dig or not while most other detectors like the CZ will tell you what to dig if close to what a coin will read as. I find with the Sovereign I get a better idea of what the target is before I dig making my trash count lower and my coin count higher.

Bill.I used the CZ70 and Soverreign GT both for about a week at the same park last month for my own comparrison. Both of these are great detectors and perform very well. The Fisher likes iron and will require a target to be checked with a four way hit to determine if its a good target and not a rusted nail. The Sovereign locks on to targets much easier and usually one back and fourth pass is all that it takes to ID a good target. One of the Sovereign's biggest advantages is it willl ID targets below zinc much better. These targets below zinc are the early wheat's,Indian Heads which will be missed with the fisher. The Sovereign also IDs old nickles very well including the war nickles.Depth wise the Sovereign is deeper even matched with the same size coil.I did find a silver dime and buffalo nickle with the CZ on one of the outing, but felt like I had to work harder with the Fisher. The Sovereign isn't balanced as well and does requires the 180 meter to out perform the CZ.I think the Fisher CZ is a great detector, but the Sovereign is better.
