Minelab Sovereign GT or Fisher CZ70

Minelab Sovereign GT or Fisher CZ70
I am thinking of buying one of these two machines for beach detecting
Which is best?

Both are very competent beach machines. Both are very competent land machines. I own a CZ-70 and currently hunt the beach with an Excal but also hunted with a Sovereigh Elite for a year.

If your purchase is strictly for beach go with the Minelab...it's the better beach machine.

For multi-purpose I would give the nod to the CZ-70, though I have made amazing finds on land with both Sovereign and CZ and you will go wrong with neither. Minelab has always been a winner with their BBS machines. Fisher discontinuing the CZ-70 was a huge mistake. Made no sense...great machine.

Thanks for the info Mike
I already have a CZ5 so I think its got to be the Minelab for me

the SovGT is one awesome machine. Nothing I have seen come's close overall but it is costly to get it where you want it. I have near 1500.00 in mine now with the GT, the 10" BBS coil, an S-5 and S-12 Sun Ray coils, a Digimeter, and a Sun Ray inline probe. I use every bit of it too and would replace any of it that I lost. With all that stuff it is deadly anywhere!

FWIW, I am at Panama City Beach right now and brought three detectors, the GT, a T2, and a Tejon. I have not tried the Tejon yet but yesterday found a guy's lost wedding ring for him with the GT... no problem. The T2 will not auto GC on the beach so you have to manually do the GC. I have not had it long so it may be me but all I have been able to get it to do is overload if I lower the coil into the water. I'm going to try again tomorrow maybe... sorry for the thread drift.

Anyway, I don't know about the CZ but you can't go wrong with a GT, no how, no where!

I have heard Soveriegn GT all the way. I know a guy who owns a detector shop in CA. He is the same cat that sold me the Garret Beach hunter Mark II. I told him I would be diving so he recommended the Garret, however, he is also an electrical engineer and swears by the GT. He even goes so far to tell me he would not even sell me an Excalibur for $1000 because that is my next buy in 2 months. He said for $625 you will not beat the GT and it is the best of the best, Just do not get the darn thing wet.He claims it will make you dig some damn good targets because it goes really deep.
