Minelab Service:thumbup:

I recently sent my four year old Excal 1000 in for service. The unit was not performing up to what I believed it could, then it went really wacky and would not stabilize properly. I had waited to hear from them for a while and thought the mail had lost another one (did this with my wife's X-Terra-70). I emailed them and they could not seem to find it at the time but when we had called they found it and was given it a look over. I guess I put this unit through Hell cause it was going to cost over five-hundred and twenty-five dollars. There was just no way I could go that and I was so disappointed until the next day when their service department called. They told me he could get the price down to two-hundred seventy-five dollars. I told him please do the work. I received it in yesterday WOW:super: There is NO way they made out on this deal. New coil, new headphones, new cables, new pc board. Went in a Excal 1000 and came out an Excal-II 1000. I am so overjoyed with their work. They must have felt real sorry for me. All I can say is thanks a whole bunch Minelab:thumbup:

That is great to hear that Minelab did so good for you, This is the new Minelab many were putting down without actually having sent in a Minelab for repair. Glad to hear the new Minelab is doing what they said they were going to do.

That type of PR probably far outways the cost of the repair and is what they need right now, i deal with the irish side as am in europe, nothing but good remarks for them so far, they are always ready to help and quite often ring back at their cost(international) if the person you need to speak to is busy.
It takes a long time to build up good PR and can be trashed quite easily, often with not quite the full truth

What was the time of the turn around on the repair??? How long did Minelab have your machine?
