Minelab Service - 11-Day Turnaround

After 3 years of heavy use I decided to send in my E-trac to Minelab's new Pennsylvania detector center for routine service. After calling first for authorization, I mailed the unit from Idaho on 11/28. Last Monday 12/4, Dan Diehl from the service department called, confirmed receipt of the unit, discussed what all needed doing (cleaning, replacing face plate), and quoted a total price of $118 which included return shipping. On Tuesday 12/5 Dan called and said the work was completed, the unit tested and that it would be mailed out that afternoon. It arrived this morning 12/9, along with a complimentary pair of Minelab gloves!

After reading some of the negative service experiences in this forum I expected to wait at least two or three weeks, or longer, to get back my E-trac. I'm blown away by the fast service and shipping, considering the holiday season and all, and Dan Diehl's professionalism in diagnosing and servicing my E-trac. Just wanted to share this experience with others whose machines might need servicing.
 
Agree with Pokeymon! Sent my E-TRAC in for warranty repair in November and it was fixed in two days!
 
I had some warranty work done this summer, same experience, 12 day turnaround service. I was kept informed all along the process, very smooth and fast!!
 
Wow that’s nice to hear. Hope I don’t have to send mine in. But it’s nice to know that it will be serviced and quickly.
 
Good deal Pokeymon! As I’ve said before,I think metal detector companies in general should provide accurate and professional service,and ML has too for awhile now. I’ve had great service from Whites and ML so far. We take this “hobby” pretty seriously and don’t want to be without our machines for long! Good on ML and Dan for getting it done right AND right away!
 
Minelab has listened to customers that consider warranty/service a critical component in deciding which detector to purchase. The new service facility is welcomed by all of us that use Minelab equipment.

I recently purchased a NEW E-trac vs others because:

1. New PA Minelab Service Center
2. Minelab has a US based office/facility
3. FBS technology is in a league of it's own
4. A history of more than 30 years in research/development/marketing metal detectors
5. A 3 year no BS warranty
6. I wanted a Minelab

All good reasons especially number 6. I wanted an E-Trac bad, especially after watching Bill_S's videos. Have never regretted the decision.
