Well hello everyone, its a wet sunday out here in west plains mo. so I'm on the net, wish I could find someont that has and is very familiar with the se I have tried several settings, and have played in factory modes,Ive tried Mike Monterys user settings, and have done ok,but I know I could do better with proper guidence, any suggestions or anyone want to and go hunt, any advice would be great,I have the sunray 5" coil, and 10 " factory, Max

I am assuming you are new to the SE and not to Detecting.
Push and hold the start button as directed in the manual to get it back to factory.
Go to Iron mask and open to 22. for the first several times out hunt with this setting.
There will be lots of opinions here but start slow.
Variability 9
Gain at 7
Threshhold just audible.
Stay in conductive sounds for now and dig all high pitched tones and all other repeatable tones to ID the targets.
High pitched tone will be at the top of the screen.
After a good 40 hours in the field like this, change sounds to ferrous and open iron mask to 30.
At this point you will still be digging all higher pitched tones but they will be on the right of the screen.
This will get you started and you can enjoy learning your machine without undo pressure.
Come back often and ask questions.

You need to get in touch with Charles (Upstate NY) he is SE God in my mind anyway. I also found out recently that James N. D. is very Knowledgeable of the SE too. Good luck and HH

Hi,Thanks for your advice. I love the hobby, and have always enjoyed it recently had a garrett gti2500,and still have a ace 250,and have tesoros, sold the garrett and bought the se because of the weight was better on the minelab, when I detect I cant stop,I have used it in factory settings and don't get me wrong some good stuff, but I also want to get the best performance and probably have confused my self some switch back and forth settings. Will definitely try some of your recipe, well HH and talk again soon Max
