Minelab Safari Question.....Can it be removed?

I have a M.L. Safari and want to know if I can remove the actual head/box/housing for the electronics! not sure what it's called! I am not sure if it just slides off or if it's glued onto the shaft/handle? It's not coming off with exerting a little effort and I don't want to tweek or crack the plastic housing. I'm wanting to open the handle and check the internal contacts for the headphones because looking inside, they look a little crusty!
Thanks in advance!
P.s. I'm not seeing any kind of set screw that might hold the housing onto the shaft..

If I remember right you need to drive the pin out of the lever and remove the red tang. Then there should be a screw or two revealed? I think?

Thanks Kenny! I'll see if that will do the trick!!

You say that "I'm wanting to open the handle and check the internal contacts for the headphones"
you can do that without having to remove/dismantle anything at the control box end apart from the one, maybe two screws in the hand grip part under the control box and the rest of the handle.battery compartment.

In the case of the Explorer/Etrac, and I am sure that the Quatro and Safari share the same build with the plastic handle battery/compartment end , where the headphone jack is mounted at the battery compartment rubber flap opening end. Usually after removing the screws along the length of plastic handle/battery/compartment, including that one that is on the actual hand grip area under the control box , the plastic is flexible enough to be spread open and kept apart while you work on it with suitable separator/s and allowing access to inspect, repair and replace it without dismantling it as much as you've done.

Yup, that will do it.

not sure what it's called! ---Il like this  hope you will succeed in something.
Where is no any screw, it can be glued or its stuck on shaft lock. Take pin and take lock off.
