does anyone know if there's still a problem getting lower rods and other parts from minlab?

I just got one it had been on backorder for a couple of months but I felt fortunate since the dealer told me they filled a backorder for a customer that had been since last Feb! Another dealer told me they will be starting to come in a bit better but there is a price increase. Look at a few Minelab websites a lot of the accesories are going up in price.

:shrug:went to kellco's site and their price is $49.95. is that higher?
they are out of stock. they don't even have the minelab 8" coil that comes with a rod.

Yep price went up about $6.00 not to bad considering how everything else is going up

I have have been waiting over 4 months for the 3, I ordered. Sent Minelab an e-mail about why no dealers have them. I have not gotten any real info back form them on this. I guess we all just have to wait.

I just got a Explorer SE last week and am now wondering why some of you guys are wanting extra lower rods?
Do they break easy or do you want to have spares rods for different size coils?

It makes it so much easier to change coils especially if you have an in line probe, all you have to do is unscrew the connecting coil cable from in line probe box, release lower shaft, insert new one with coil on it and hook up cable to probe box and your done, takes about a minute. I have a couple of velcro straps to hold my coil cable on each shaft so that makes it even quicker.

I just ordered a upper and lower from KellyCo and they didn't say anything about it being on backorder.

Lower shafts are in supply now. I'm assuming most dealers should have them by now. Tall man and standard rods for the Explorer series, Sovereign and Xterra rods too. Minelab increased their parts back in August. Some parts for older models are getting thin or are now non existent. If you have an older model, best stock up on any parts you might need.
Good hunting,
David
