Minelab Quattro MP Whats a good price for a used one?

I have no experience with any minelabs, in fact I am only 3 months into metal detecting for the first time in my life. I own a Ace 250, Prism 2, and the new Coinmaster. I am interested in trying the Quattro MP. Will there be much of a difference in performance compared to the Ace 250, which is my favorite so far. I would appreciate everyones opinion on what would be a good price for a used one. Thanks for any help

I sold my Quattro about a year ago for $500. I went from the Garrett GTAx 750 to the Quattro. The Quattro definitly will give you a depth advantage, but you have to slow your swing speed down. Also, the GTAx 750 pinpoints better in my opinion. It will take you a little while to get used to the tones and I would get Andy Sabisch's book on the Quattro. I bought the Safari to replace the Quattro and it has a faster processor, but on the high trash setting (which is default) it doesn't id between silver dimes and wheaties as well. Hope this helps some and good luck.

Be careful with Garrett in the Northeast. Certain Garrett models were tested in Texas soil and when used in certain soil conditions, the machine does not read accurately.
Proved this time and time again.
