Minelab Pro Swing 45.....AMAZING!

A buddy ended up with two of these so he sold me one at a great price. Opening the box the first thing that comes to mind is...this is a bit much. Put it together with a bit of help from Minelabs video because the instructions were typical Minelab instructions.
Strapped it on and I am still thinking it is a bit much. There are multiple adjustments that allow for even those with short bodies & a ample belly. But once I hooked the detector on and feel the weight disappear from my hand...I knew I was hooked and realized my detecting time had multiplied and my sore shoulder might be a thing of the past. -K

When I first got mine I couldn't stand it. It was so annoying to have to unhook every target or remained attached to the detector which defeats the purpose of the wireless module. I was about to sell it and then I tried it on the beach. I absolutely love it there because I don't have to detach it to use my scoop. Really decreases fatigue when swinging the 17in coil. I still won't use it for dirt hunting though.

I posted earlier about using both Right and Left J rods at the same time. It's a bit harder to put on - you have to drop it down a bit - I finally glued both rod pieces together using J-B Weld Putty. It never loosens. You need a harness of some kind anyway to keep the gear and find bags from sagging forward when you bend over the target. That was always causing faulting on my pinpointer.

Also, with all the gear attached to the harness, all you need to grab and don is that one thing. Somewhat like a fireman's gear setup. You have the detector and then the harness with the shovel, long spade, Pinpointer, trash bag, finds bag, towel and water bottle all attached. Makes for quick preparation and putting away.

Properly adjusted, most of the weight falls on your hips and lower back. No sagging trousers. Feels good.

With both R and L rods installed, you can easily switch detector arms.

Try a HipStick, greater range of motion, less then half the price. Works so well Minelab copied the concept.

Good post! I hate harnesses but the Minelab pro swing 45 is by far the best. Most slings just transfer the weight to another part of your ody but this one really distributes it well.

I purchased the pro swing when it first came out. I did not like it, it was to much for me, Why to bulky. I had trouble putting it together, the stick just wasn't right. When I hear how much you guys like it, makes me think I had it together wrong.

Got me thinking the same thing..lol. I might have to try this gadget thing again. NOW the guy who mentioned water hunting and leaving being able to use scoop while still harnessed to the detector...Brilliant..did not think of that..Thanks
