Minelab pinpointer nad MXT pro

I coudn't use my minelab pinpointer with the MXT Pro. When I'd activate the pinpointer the MXT would start "screaming". I want to use a pinpointer to hunt so what to do? I didn't have this problem with the Tesoro Cibola, I would just switch the freq.

Just wait till Whites come out with there new pinpointer. That is what i am doing, i tryed both pinpointers Garretts and Minelab and they both did the same with the MXT.Come on Whites, we are waiting. Flintstone

I use the DX-1 and love it. It works just like a search coil but made into a pin-pointer. You have every function you normally have with a coil such as discriminate or all-metal, ect. That comes in REALLY handy when the hole is full of rusty nails but you only want to pin-point the good target. There is often bits of metal that a regular pin-pointer will have you chasing if you cannot disc. I also like that if you find a really deep target that will not give accurate VDI you only have to get halfway to it and use the DX-1 and it is ALWAYS super accurate compared to ANY search coil. It is so small that it cannot be fooled by nulling, masking, ect. Also, being so small you can crank the sensitivity and use it to scan for gold flakes, tiny nuggets, ect, that are too small for even the smallest search coil.
Plus, You cannot lose a DX-1. Honestly, how many times have you wandered around looking for your pin-pointer after you walked away from the last hole you dug?

I love my DX-1 pinpointer and with those, you don't have to worry about loosing it either. ;-) It's like another coil only 1" round. HH, Nancy

In other words, I can't use my pinpointer? Well I don't have the money for a DX-1 so I'll be slowed down a bit during digging. Anyone want to trade a DX-1 for a 9.5 v rated coil? Thaks for you resposes folks. I have been through a lot of detctors but the MXT pro is staying.

Your pinpointer is fine, my Garrett also does the same.....if I do use my pinpointer I lay the search coil away from where I am pinpointing. But ya the MXT will pick up the pinpointer freq.....is no big deal just some noise. Once you pinpointed and located your target you shut off your pinpointer and everything is fine.

I have two Garrett pro pointers. They operate around 12kHz, but not exactly, as I can't use one of them with my compadre that operates at the same frequency. My coinmaster gt picks up some interference when pinpointing to close to the coil. I am wanting an mxt pro, have been reading alot about them and this is the first I've heard of this problem. Hh
