Sorry guy's i guess we kind of made our own forum here and i know the Sovereign guy's are a hard bunch to roll with and quick to defend a great metal detector for which it truly is and has some very strong good characteristics as does the Musketeer Advantage such as the 5kHz operating frequency which the inventor of the VLF metal detector has noted in his writings that the 5kHz freq is the best for coins, and also that the detector has manual ground balance,no motion all metal pinpoint mode that you rarely see and besides that it is built out of the same housing as the Sovereign,i used to swap battery packs and rods all the time!.The Musketeer really gets a bad rap,if i had a vehicle i could get out more with it but i am not going to let that stop me.I am even without my bicycle right now, last week i road it to walmart and someone stole the back wheel right off of it,i called the cops and he said the guy monitoring the camera wasn't in today! i have the worst luck!.I saw a cool shaft for the Sovereign and Musketeer at www.andersondetectorshafts.com,they also have the carbon fiber lower shafts for lighter weight.Oh well thanks for sharing the forum with the underdog,it is kind of fun being the underdog here.thank you Sovereign fans you are a tough bunch!.Chuck.

Hey they are both made by minelab which makes them great, who cars what model it is. When we buy a car does everyone get the same thing? nope that would be boring....and tough to find your care when you go to the mall. I say welcome aboard!

i liked the Musky quite well as a coin shooter.it is one of my fav single freq detectors....but for me,nothing comes close to the Sovereign.

chuck i have the same problem , no car to get around , or i would have found lots of goodies by now , My family says see all you find is junk but they do not realize if i cant get to the spots i cant find anything , i just hunt because im so bored around the farm and i find cut nails spark plugs and yesterday i found an old lost gopher trap 12" down at least im practicing never juge a detector by or only by what the person is finding It all really hinges on the place you hunt but i have done some reasearch in my local biking distance earea and have 7 old farms long torn down and i just may start hunting them the spot i found a good token and a 1925 dime i cant get to but i still get a charge out of my 10" dime that i can get it whith the 7" coil thats amazing to me
