Minelab Multi IQ question?

KSDfisher77

Well-known member
Do any of you guys & gals think Minelab could program/or perform a software update, for these new Multi IQ frequency detectors to allow the user to pick frequencies of his choice?
Whether it be 2 frequencies, 3,4, or 5 frequencies?
Do any of you see this being useful in certain hunting situations? Anybody got any thoughts? Thanks.

I assume you mean simultaneously because they already allow users to pick their frequencies. Therefore I would say no, no, and no. It is just my opinion that the designers know more about choosing the frequencies than even the expert detectorist. I don't think the average person could combine them in a superior way to what Minelab has done. According to Carl NC, who is an engineer, Minelab and Nokta both use almost the exact same 3 frequencies in all their different modes. The "weighting" is in the processing, Allowing more or less frequencies that are the choice of the user would certainly complicate the processing.

How do you think it would be useful?
