Have you noticed that there are alot of minelab detectors being sold here lately and other forums. my opinion I think minelab will not service the older models anymore to bad some of the older ones are very good. whats are your opinion about this.

Your question, notice how many of brand(fill in the blank)? are selling gets asked quite a lot on various forums. With tough economic times people are selling lots of stuff to survive.

We dealers received a E Mail from Minelab saying they will repair all the Minelabs as they have always done if the parts are available for some of the older ones. They will not do any mods or add on of after market accessories.
I think why you see more for sale is some want to upgrade, dont care for detecting as they dont have the patience to get to know these detectors plus more Minelabs are probably sold than any of the other top of the line detectors, so you will see more used ones for sale.

What is your motivation here? I think everyone SHOULD sell their Explorer BTW so I can use my Explorer to find the stuff others are missing

A quick non-scientific count of the last 30 days on the Classifieds:

1 Troy
3 Garrett
3 Tesoro
14 Fisher (7 F75, 2 F4, 3 F5, 1 CZ, 1 CS)
12 Whites (1 DFX, 3 Vision, the rest MXT)
12 Minelab (1 Excal, 1 Sov, 1 EXII, 2 SE, 2 Etrac, 5 XTerra)

You found a statistical trend in that?

I personally just recently sold 3 of my four detectors so I could upgrade to probably the best going right now. All of the machines I sold were excellent, but needed to sell to afford the cost of the upgrade. FYI I sold a Tesoro, and 2 Minelabs. The Minelabs were tops and excellent detectors, but then again I purchased a new Minelab as my upgrade. I don't even think I need to mention what I upgraded to. That should be obvious. Here is a hint though. ET

I usually look for good deals on Minelabs and even sale off some of my used equipment. The one thing I've noticed its hard to find a good deal. The XS Explorers in good shape are going for top dollar.(Thanks to James ND).Sovereign's and accessories seem to be at a better buyer's price, but still a clean used XS Sovereign will sell for a good price.I don't see a flood of sales on the older Minelabs.HH Ron
