While I have nothing to show for my complaints yet,I can assure you Minelab is reading these forums. For all you that sent the complaints via Email, phone calls, BBB, Consumer complaints in your own state, thanks it is doing the job. For those of you that sit back and let the few do the work. Wake the %*$# up! Get on the horn and demand they compensate you for your your loss time.
6 weeks is outside the allowed standard for Warranty work and they know it. Get something for your grief,if only your warranty extended for the2/3 months they have your machine!

Steve - My Excal II was acting up again yesterday and I had to put it back in the car and bring out the Sov GT. It was the 4th straight trip to the beach that the continuous falsing has happened. Last night I left a message with the service manager. I want to talk to him before I send it in. I'll document and share every detail. Matt

Matt,You did check the coil cover for sand? Make sure your threshold switch did not spin?

I checked both of those but neither helped. It's funny, but ever since I got it back from repair a year ago (they replaced the guts and coil), it seems like it'll work fine a few outings, and then it acts up for a few. It doesn't matter which beach I'm at or what my settings are. I just can't count on it anymore. One of my Sov GT's was repaired last year, but I caused that problem with water damage. It runs real smooth....just like the Excal should. I can't get the hang of my White's Dual Field PI....maybe it time to try something different...like a Fisher CZ-21???
