Here is what this months contest prizes will be...
One Spare Re-chargeable Battery with Charger
One Accessory Coil (8" or 10")
One Minelab Body-Warmer Vest
In 2 of 3 cases Minelab is willing to match the prize to the Minelab detector you are using. Unfortunately the coil cannot be a prize on the Excalibur for the obvious reason.
Once the winner has been voted on and decided by our forum, the winner will be asked to submit to to me the photos and story, which will then forwarded to Minelab USA, Inc., along with the signed "Customer Release Form" downloadable from our webpage. The photos can either be submitted as actual (hard copy) photos, if possible, or digitally if done in very high resolution. Email me if you intend to enter a digital photo and I will let you know the requirements. Once we have all of this, we will send out the prizes.
Thanks to Minelab for donating the prizes. They are talking also about having a grand prize for the best find of the year so don't get rid of a find too soon...
Good luck and good hunting... Guvner..

First let me say to save the picture you're using to display the image on the forum as a different named file. Most of us optimize these pictures or otherwise harm them for future quality reproduction. Then if you win you must send the picture in for Minelab's use in advertising. So here they are:
To use digital photos for publication we need to have the highest quality image possible. This varies from camera to camera but the following are some basic guidleines for creating high quality images:
1. Set the Quality to highest level (most cameras have atleast 2 options, standard and fine - set to fine or higher)
2. The Image size should be as large as possible (1600x1200dpi)
3. When taking detail shots, use the Macro Button if available. This will assist the automatic focus for close ups.
4. Save the images as RGB Jpgs (for PC)
5. Do not compress the image and select optimise (not progressive) if asked.
I think that covers everything, apart from the obvious need to have clear, artistic pictures!! Hold the camera very steady (using a tripod if necessary), ensure the images are in focus and smile!
If you don't think your digital is capable then go to a 35 mm film camera.
Good hunting.. Guvner..
