Minelab GT & S-12 Intruder coil

disc at 0

sens at 3 oclock

notch 0

threshold just audible

volume all the way up

sometimes the threshold will rise or fall so you have to adjust it as you go

heres what I do with the sens: set it low like I mentioned above, then when you get a deep target (you should be able to tell by the weaker audio) raise the sens and see if you can get a cleaner stronger signal. If you can, leave your sens at that point and then do it again, several times on deep targets till you find the optimum sens level. to high a sens and your gonna get ghost signals, falsing. each beach is different and sometimes this can change on the same beach because of mineral conditions.
even with the sens at 3oclock you can pull coin signals at 10" that are clean, especially with the S12. try it and you will see.
the sov is not like a tesoro or fisher in that it doesnt seem to get to jittery at high sens settings, you have to go by how much it falses, how many times your rechecking what sounded like a signal but wasnt. more isnt always better:cheers:

regarding your pinpointing question, sound like your sens setting is to high. a good target will repeat and not move around. just wiggle the coil to get the tone and move the coil either forward or backward and when it stops dig right there. you can also practice by just throwing a coin on the ground and trying it.
