Well I finally was able to pull a few mercs out of the ground! I has been months since my last silver coin.. Waaayyyy too looonnnnggg haha I just got a new 8 inch Sunray coil in the mail today.. The thing works like a charm... I only had about 30 minutes to hunt before it got dark and the thugs came out The very first hit i got was an odd tone... It was only down about 8 inches. I was getting a mixture of tones.. Kind of like the sound of a bull frog mixed with a whistle... If you can picture that?? I opened up the plug and laying right in the bottom of the hole was a 1943 war nickel.. "the bull frog tone" I knew there had to be something with it, so i started poking around the hole with my probe and got a screaming tone... "the Whistle" It happened to be a 1936 merc Ill take it!!! Shortly after i was able to scrounge up a wheatie, a 1941 merc, and a clad dime with a nice little hole in it! The Sunray X-8 coil worked excellent tonight! I cant wait to take it back out again this weekend! Thanks for looking everyone..

HA I dont pay to much attention to the numbers but i did glance up at them.. That is the exact reading it gave me as well!

last week I got a war nickel and it gave me a reading of 12-30 and there was nothing else in the hole. I removed the nickel (surprised) and rechecked the hole in quickmask and there was nothing there.......odd huh?

last week I got a war nickel and it gave me a reading of 12-30 and there was nothing else in the hole. I removed the nickel (surprised) and rechecked the hole in quickmask and there was nothing there.......odd huh?

War nickels are 15% silver,I think.

yeah they are 35% but run one under your coil..........they do NOT come up 12-30...lol

Derrell WTG on th Frog N Tweety sound that gives me a spark, I have a park I call Hoodlem park I think someone should put 220 AC grid wire and just turn it on at night?? LOL I found a Merc with a iron nale just below it gave I bit of a Silver cherp I Love it I got a 6" Excelerator EQ-2-DD coming Detech Coil cant what 4R it to get hear I can go back to that spot N get the good stuff in the junk, I came from 25+ years on Whites using so thear is a bit of a learing curve 4R me
The main thing i came from Whites is wen you go over junk N good stuff you just get a null N it dosent go as DEEP as the E-Track, Mickfin
