As far as I understand the upper handle assembly is pretty much the same between Etrac and Explorer. The head units are different in shape but nevertheless I dont think it would make a difference in balance. I've seen people remove the head unit and mount them on either a strait shaft or something for better weight and balance.
Thanks for the reply Saltshaker, I was just wondering if anyone had actually mounted an explorer control box on an E-Trac upper handle assembly. I have both detectors and I must say that the E-Trac handle angle/layout is a big improvement over the Explorer handles in terms of comfort/balance. I was thinking about trying it but considering that I'd have to buy the upper handle assembly from Minelab it would probably be cost prohibitive!
