Minelab explorer rechargeable battery

Can I take the Minelab rechargeable battery pack and put any other rechargeables in it? I called a few places to replace it but the price was little More than I could do

I think that should be no problem if you can get it open to replace the batteries, but leave the curcuity in it if you are using the factory battery charger. Now what many have done is get a charger that will charge 8 AA Batteries at a time and used the alkaline pack to put the batteries in when they are charged.

The easiest and cheapest solution is to buy an alkaline battery pack.
The battery pack is my preference because I favour RAM AA rechargeable batteries.
The battery pack accepts all AA size batteries. You might also be interested to check-out NIMh "Hybrio" batteries which do not drain rapidly when not used.
