hello! i have always been a faithful GARRETT metal detector user, but lately, i have been reading about minelabs, do they really outperform other detectors the way they claim??? i have read claims of finding quarters at 22 inches. can anyone lay claim to such an experience??

It seems the Minelabs really get targets out of iron and trash(King of target seperation in my book) although depth may only be a matter of inches when it comes to getting the older stuff...but them couple inches can hold alot of older denomination coins and targets. I've heard Garretts running in all metal mode can get the depth of minelabs but adding disc. to the lowers their depth greatly as with minelabs disc. doesn't seem to lose much depth.

Maybe on a gold bar.
But I guarantee you that you'll get solid hits on dimes a little deeper than your coil's diameter.
