You will get mixed opinions on this. I have never used that particular model, but in some conditions the depth could be comparable, from some users of both. It depends where you are and what kind of BAD habits you have, like swinging fast and unlevel. Golf swings will kill you too. Excal likes a slow level swing 1' per second, is probably the right receipe for success. If you like a fast swing and digging every target, including, but not limited to bobby pins, nails, screws, sparkler wires and ferrous gobs of WHO KNOWS what buy a PI, if not get the Excal, savvy?

I use Excalibur 800, Excalibur II 1000 and Surfmaster PI PRO. Sufmaster goes deeper, very deeper, but I suggest to use it when the others go silent all the time unless you want to dig so often (remember digging into water is not like digging dry send ).

A PI metal detector does go deep I have been there done that, but having to dig everyones trash from the last parties? I went with a Minelab Excalibur 800 and not looked back. I may not get the depth of the PI's, but I do not have to clean up everyones mess from the last party. I use metal detecting as a hobby, one that I can enjoy and find good things. If I miss a few goodies that are deeper, I do not have to clean up too.

Here are my mixed opinions that I'm beating my head on right now as I am writing this. Is it better to make the most of every day MDING or pass over the little stuff and go for the gold? It's kinda like the old adage, don't sweat the small stuff

deffinely go with the excel II it s better discrimination it doesnt go much deeper and remember your using 17 frequencies versus 2 on the whites machine you will find better targets and dig less junk
