I have friend who might want to get into detecting but wants a water proof detector. How well do any of the Excalibers also work on land ? Any info would be great. HH

Well all i can tell you is i have had my Excal about a month and I'm very impressed. I had some great find's so far and as i continue to learn it will only get better...
As far as a land machine i have only used it on the beach so if you mean soil instead of sand i cant comment, but there are plenty of guys on here that will give you plenty of advice. I do recommend your friend get The Basic Ear Training CD for the Excal if he gets one it will help alot to get them started...

Good Luck

WE have piddled around parks, when VERY bored and done well using the Excal 800s. The 1000 is just too large out there and more separation is needed. They work just fine, it is about the same as using a Sov, only you don't have to quit if it starts to rain, LOL!
