It is not a kit. It is a service provided. Contact Kellyco repair center. I will offer a few opinions on the pinpoint mod.
The mod allows for quick switching from pinpoint to discrimination mode. It bypasses the switch on the Excalibur that just can't handle the constant switching back and forth. Now here is the important part. What the mod does is allow you to jack up the sensitivity in pinpoint mode higher than you can hunt in discrimination mode. It allows you to hear whispers that you would never hear with a lower sensitivity setting in discrimination mode. But to be able to take advantage of the mod you NEED a good tight fit of headphones. The stock yellow Koss headphones are terrible.
For the mod you will have to provide or buy an upper rod from Kellyco. They wire the grip. I went with the Anderson Carbon Fiber shaft.
Goodmore, doesnt Joe (old beach nut) have a utube on what parts are needed for the do it at home folks? I might mention in PP mode the targets are sized vs modulated. a small target will sound small...... where as in disc it might sound like any other target. BUT you get used to that. You also hear the salt water moving over the coil like you might on a PI..... but you quickly learn that as well. Just no comparison at the waters edge or where you might have to tilt a coil........ no falsing like in disc.
So Goodmore Kelleyco is using the grip off your upper and putting the PP switch in? Not sure why they need the upper........ are they giving you less coil to adjust your grip if needed? Or is it just so you can use what you bought and not putting a bike handle on it?
Yes I believe OBN does have a video explaining parts and mod. But as for me I'm all thumbs. So I sometimes take it for granted that others are too. I do forget we have very talented people on the forum that can probably do their own work. As for the grip I was asked by the team what rod I was using. I guess they need to make sure that the grip fits the shaft. I just ordered an Anderson Carbon Fiber while they talked to me. The entire upper rod was sent back assembled with new headphones as well. They leave slack for grip adjustment. And one last thing I will add is I had them take the limiter out of the GG Headphones because I need volume.
Never had that issue with the limiter. I still have a pair of GGA that Joe sent me when he was experimenting with them when they first came out. Also, have a pair of his SKULLIES and a pair i put together. All my phones are to loud for most people who have tried them. Not all the GG sound the same, mine have great separation and clearer tones.

FYI, you don't have to ship your straight shaft to Kellyco if you own one, just ship the handle from your straight shaft..If you don't own a straight shaft then yes you need to buy one or at least the handle for one....
Thanks TH, knowing a little about how they are done did have me scratching my head about a need for the entire upper. Knock on wood, ive not had to much break lately but can say Kelleyco has sure been a HUGE improvement over dealing with MLs customer service. Good move for both companies id say.
I'll toss in on this. I had a top notch experience having my Excalibur 2 modded with both the GGA's and remote PP. Barry and his brother Dave got it nailed down. At first I had the 12x10 SEF hard wired by them as well but it was unsuitable for my wading in the ocean. The falsing at any sens setting made it unusable. Had a new stock 10" put on and I love this rig. I'm not much for hunting in PP but the mod allows me to size a target quickly. Can't say enough about the great service I got. Dealing with ML factory repair centers was something that I always wanted to avoid. Hooray for the service at KellyCo!
