Great videos once again OBN !! I will be adding them to My "Jersey Shore Beach and Surf Hunters" page on Facebook.....glad to see someone giving back with some tips on these forums for once.....don't get me wrong....I love all the pics of finds and the great detecting stories and such....but I really appreciate when someone shares tips especially in video format....there are alot of newbies and not so newbies here that can always use a little education to fine tune their techniques!.....Sooooo thanks again for a really nice video series!!....HH....Brian

Big Thank You, I just got my Excalibur delivered, got it assembled and listening to tape. After listening to the audio tape, as a newbie, I feel I am going to have to dig everything is that so, I don't mind. To all you semi- pros's do you dig everything, if not how long did it take to get your ear tuned between junk and "gold"?
Once again Thank you for your help.

The video is great, and being new to Excal, I find that I dig everything also, the all metal mode seems difficult to distinguish targets, I have read advanced field methods also, but am I missing something in the all metal mode when trying to get the signal, it just does not seem as defined as in discriminate. Oh well maybe with time I will understand it more.

Steve

I would recommend starting in Disc mode AND dig all signals, for about a year. I think it would be good to do so. You may try Pinpoint some too, but it is more challenging, one or the other may prove superior in your area, as OBN has shown, so be open-minded.

Got to agree with GulfHunter on that..Get to know your machine And your hunting grounds..Given time it all will fall into place. The same goes for CjC's Books, I go out detecting, come home and go thur the book/read alittle, And I will say: Dam, I remember the machine doing that, Click! Just takes Time, I am going to do some Video's on the Excal hunting in discriminate mode when the beach gets more people , which means more Junk and more Loot to discriminate. Like CjC's Books, Use my Video's as a referances ........Good Luck..Obn
