Minelab Excal Service

Rocky!

New member
I had an issue with my Excal ll leaking water, and sent it back to the service center in Illinois and was amazed at how GREAT they were. After receiving my unit- (2 days normal shipping), I got a call from Naomi giving me an R & A number, to follow my unit through the repair shop. Two days later I got another call from the repair man, Dave, letting me know that they had ran some tests and are pretty sure what the problem is and asked me a couple of questions about my waist set-up for the unit and told me they would have it in the mail in the next day or so. Today, 1-12-12, eight days after receiving my unit, I have it back in my home and it works wonderfully!!! I am thrilled with the new improved service and just wanted to let all the Excal users know, that we finally have a friend in the Service Center at Minelab...
Jeff Otero is the new head of service and I would highly recommend calling him if you intend on sending in your detector.. you will not be disappointed!!!

That certainly is good news. Hopefully they are on track to improved customer service. Thanks for the post.

Wow, that is very good news. I guess they finally figured out that the 35 to 45 day turnaround wasn't exactly good support. Hope they keep it up.

I am so glad because I have an Excal and was worried about the service having gone downhill. I hope they keep up the good work.

I hope I get mine back in a timely manor. Sent it in for the DISC/PP nob. it's been a week but have not heard anything as of yet. But I'm hopeful.

Was it under warranty? If not, how much did the repairs cost?
