minelab excal plastic bolt stripped

I've remember reading some of the guys talking about a "fix" for the plastic bolt that holds the coil on the shaft, but I couldn't find

the message. If anyone has any ideas or which posted message contained the discussion about the cheap plastic bolts that

comes with the high dollar toy. thanks

if you look at the ears on the coil that the shaft fits into those are very stiff, you will not be able to squeeze them together with a plastic bolt and plastic nut . you need to get another thin rubber washer and fit it on the inside between the shaft and the coil ears. and as you know for obvious reasons the bolt and nut has to be plastic.

goodluck!!!!

Saw someone mention on one of the forums (past) about using plastic nut and bolt of toilet seat to ceramic bowl.

Hello sookie,

Here is the key to glory in this situation. Go to the hardware store and purchase 5/16"X2" hex bolt coarse threaded nylon bolts and nylon wing nuts to fit. Get a 5/16" drill bit and drill coil ears separately, then drill out the lower shaft. Replace the teardrop washers too and stick it all back together, problem SOLVED! About all you have to do to maintain it, is be sure to keep fresh washers on there and no more worries, savvy?
