Minelab Eureka Gold Coil Problem??

J_w73

New member
I recently picked up a used Eureka Gold that came with two of the same goldsearch 1000 coil. The coil that was on the pole when I plug it in and turn on the machine all I get is a constant piercing signal.. It will go away for a second when I flip a few switches but comes right back.. The signal does not waiver when I turn the threshold or sensitivity knob..
The other coil seems to operate like it should.. With no coil plugged in the machine is relatively quiet with a few pips here and there...

Is the one coil shot? Is it worth sending into Minelab for repair..? Is there a way I can test the coil with an Ohm/Volt meter ?

On a side note , are these coils water proof ??
