Minelab does or doesn't ???

With the bickering going on back & forth about the Dakota Tool offering from Minelab back in January and February got me thinking.
Since I just ordered a Minelab X-Terra 30 Does Minelab stand behind their products and their customers or don't they. Over the years I have had Garretts and Tesoro's and both companies are great. This is my first Minelab and I am kind of curious. Thanks! Steve.

Hi Steve and yes Minelab in my opinion does take care of it's customers. If they are offering a freebie like the Dakota watch then they will follow thru. But they may be at the mercy of the watch maker. I am going to say this, will that watch make a difference on how well your detector will perform?

John's Detectors[/quote] Understood Mr.Tomlinson, no it won't make a difference. But lets say I buy a new car & they say they are going to give me a free key chain with it - they darn well better give me one. It is not the value of the freebie it's the idea of it. Now adays if a dealer/distributor/bank/car company/phone company/etc. owes you anything you might not here from them but if you owe them 3 cents they will call you night and day 7 days a week. Steve.

Hi Steve, yep I agree 100%, if there is something being used as a promotion then the company needs to come thru with that item. Ok Steve take care and God Bless.

Ok, I wasn't suggestng that Minelab won't come through - just that if they promised something they should come through & keep the folks posted what's going on. Steve.

I'm with you Steve and I hope Minelab is going to take care of those which have not gotten a watch. I believe they will but may take a little longer until a new shipment comes in. I feel that Minelab has it goin on and have some great detectors. A real surprise for me is the Musky, it is quite a basic detector, but sure is sensitive! Ok Steve CU later and happy hunting to you always my friend.

No complaints here.

Theyve been great to me, same as Tesoro has which is the only other company Ive ever had to deal with for repairs.

I also have a dakota watch on backorder but to me its no big deal, I would have bought the detector even without that being offered.

They give a toll free number (at least for the USA) on the backorder card so calling them shouldnt cost a penny, just be aware of the time difference, I live in NJ so its a few hours.

Why not just call them up and ask a few questions, it would ease your mind a bit Id guess.

Most of the freebie watches I`ve got are crapp anyway LOL
They don`t offer us any freebies in Aust.they only screw us price wise.

Hi Kris, I know that must be so frustrating owing to the fact that Minelab is made right there in Australia. I suppose it has something to do with the exchange rate of the currency there? Well best to you Kris and also God Bless you and yours.
