Minelab Customer Service

I just purchased a new ETRAC and tried calling Minelab with a few questions. All I get is a phone message to leave my name, number and issue only to be called back within 24 hours. Well, no one has called me......I also registered for the Minelab forum and was supposed to be sent a password.......of course nothing sent and it has been 3 days. So is this normal customer service ? I traded in a Whites product and now am reluctant that I have made a bad decision. Whites always answers the phone and I always speak to someone that day. If this is normal customer support I will readjust my expectations !!!! I remember hearing years ago that Minelab service was very poor. I guess things have not changed. Please give me your feedback .
 
I am also a convert from the whites hype...and I never had an issue with their machine that I had to contact them about, other than the fact that it drove me crazy for almost two years trying to learn how to use the dang thing. I have had my etrac about a month and have gotten out to hunt with it at every available opportunity. Not real sure what questions you have for minelab, but I would almost bet that most any of them could be answered right here in this forum.

Not sure what you are expecting from minelab, but in my opinion they make the finest detectors on the market for the hobby enthusiast...being as big of a company as it is, can cause delay and slow responses...but as long as they keep making these machines like the etrac...I can put up with that. So maybe ask your questions here in this forum...there is a wealth of knowledge about your machine right at your fingertips. Good luck.

My experience with Minelab Service has only been positive. I contacted them each time with an e-mail and the response turn around was very quick. I had a couple of small things to deal with and one major one in the last three years, they resolved it right away with exceptional service. Do not have any qualms they will take good care of you.
 
I too have just bought a Minelab e-track and kept my whites v-3i also, and I had problems with their on-line registration too, so I called them and the girl I talked to said they were having problems with their web site and it was being redone so she recommended sending in the registration by mail, I would have thought they would have addressed these issues ASAP with computer specialists since they are such a large company, but I too am used to the service from whites and know what you are saying, If I have any issues with my machine I will be going through my dealer instead of directly through Minelab,

I think you would get a better and faster response from your dealer Just my two cents worth.

Phoned, emailed me return label, E Trac returned in ~ 10 days. Even talked with the tech who fixed. Called when he shipped back!

Excellent Customer service.
 
This Is my 2 cents it might not be worth much.. I have read something here that I can't believe. People saying, Not sure what you are expecting from minelab and being as big of a company... Come one guys if you buy the best you want the best in customer service and parts even a email that's why we buy minelab,

I had to return my lower shaft one time and had no trouble.. That's what I paid for, good service and well taking care of.

i only live about a hour away from the midwest location they not only fixed my problem i asked them about a cover for my e trac they had them but they said they was not set up for retail sales when he came out with my e trac they had put on a cover at no charge i am more than happy with the service dennis
