Minelab CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ......

So I called Minelab last Friday after my morning hunt and explained to them my lower shaft came apart, at the coil mount and carbon fiber shaft! Naudia says ok well you won't need an RMA# for that what's your address, Monday at noon a brand new 180$ shaft arrives, they didn't ask for my serial # or anything and they didn't want my broken lower, so I used my lightning bond glue (you should look into buying this stuff, guys name is harry ness you'll never use another glue I promise) and glued that sucker back so now I have 2 shafts to compliment my 3 coils... And boy it's nice! Good job Minelab for taking care of us customers!!

Wont go into detail what happened to the board in my CTX but I will say customer service and the repair center Nadia, John. Did a good job getting the unit in and out quickly and the only cost to me was the time it took to take it to a drop center.

Thank you Minelab

Minelab Service is getting better??? Cool , I mite need it 4R my CTX some Day???
Im Glad things are Looking up, Some up grads would be nice but you cant have everything????
Right on ML, Mickfin Mickey Lewis

...excellent!!!! Had some problem with burnt out pixels on my CTX. Called and had a prepaid label and RMU# that same day. Dropped it off at UPS later that day and 2 weeks later, the CTX was back and had a new screen put on.

Warms my heart to hear this. WAY TO GO MINELAB!! Great gear and great service - a marriage made in consumer heaven! I may need to send my 8 month old machine in and I have less than 3 weeks to do it. I will leaving Los Angeles Thursday night Sept 12th for a trip to the East Coast with my detector - more on that in future posts once I get there but it should be epic with the new CTX (first time there).

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Very glad they did the right thing for a customer for a change. But I still will never buy another product from them.

I wish to state for all that...
Minelab does make products that can be excellent...
and does offer product service that sometimes is same.
But... It is a "Hit" or "Miss" situation...
I have had the "Miss" several times...
I wish anyone with a Minelab product nothing but perfectly functioning equipment...
and if you have required product service at anytime, and if it was provided to your satisfaction
that it may continue to be so or be so if required... Good Luck.

I just wish that we whom have had the "Miss" and or "Misses" could have been spared the woe.

I often worry (a lot) what my ctx will be like after the 2 year warranty runs out. I've had my share of odd issues with it. When I notified Minelab of the problems my machine had it took them three days to send me an RMA label, I feel like they forgot about me so I had to call twice to remind them to send it to me, otherwise they've been pretty good. This is a very pricey detector and we should expect a lot from it and get many good years of use out of it as well. So far it seems Minelab has got our backs though.

Taking time lately to repair...

They got my MD on August 15th and are "sending it back to me" today 9/3.

I was quoted 10-15 day turnaround time...

I bought mine on June 5 2013. It leaked water through battery compartment on Sunday June 16. Called Minelab the next day Monday. Finlay on Friday the 21st they emailed me the USPS shipping label. I sent it in the same day. Got it back on July 3. Had to send back on August 16 because the cam lock on the upper shaft was completely worn out would not lock the lower shaft. Also im having 11" coil checked. The 11" coil with saltwater on will not get over 19 sens in auto. My 17" coil will average 27 to 25 sens in auto saltwater on. Today is September 4th and still no word.

I hunt saltwater surf on east coast Central Florida. This machine is advertised as a water machine. It is not. It cannot handle the saltwater condition's I hunt in. Will it find gold yes I think it does better than my Excal. But its not worth the time sending in to Minelab every 2-3 weeks.I think it is a shame Minlab rushed this machine onto the market without properly testing it in saltwater surf. Just you did the testing? I cannot recommend this machine to anyone that hunts in the saltwater. If your a water hunter and thinking of buying the CTX forget it. Save yourself some money and buy the Excal. If you only hunt dry and wet sand then this is the machine to have hands down.

Waterproof it's not.

Its more like "water resistant" "Rain proof"

You would be CRAZY to submerge this machine when the warranty runs out. Like diamondr said If you hunt chest deep water, get yourself something else.
