Minelab Customer Service another A+

A few months ago I had sent my E-Trac in to get it repaired. It would turn off and on while idle until the battery ran down. There didn't seem to be any detecting abilities lost, but since it was in warranty I wanted it checked out. They replaced the faceplate which usually the problem associated with mine and they had it back to me in a little over a week. A few weeks ago I heard it doing it again and contacted Minelab. They sent a UPS label in an email and I sent it back. I received a call 2 days after it arrived and they informed me because of the recent repair and not being able to find a remedy that they would be sending me a new E-Trac... I still hear people complain about how bad their customer service is, but I don't see it at all.. I have never had a company send me a brand new detector, it has always been a refurbished unit!!!! This speaks volumes about how they have changed the way they handle their customers. I appreciate the way they have made an apparent turn around....

Not that I want any problems with mine, but that is good to know. Glad it worked out for you.
 
That's good to hear... Maybe they are listening to their biggest allies..the customers... I was super happy to see that Kellyco has picked up factory service of Minelabs...I am sure Kellyco will not allow the keeping of a guys detector for weeks on end..that's just bad business..And in todays economy ..I think I'd be doing everything I could to get repeat business.. I am gearing up to buy an Etrac soon..five to ten years ago..I was scared away from Minelab because of the repair problems I had heard about..But it seems they are getting it right and I may take the plunge on a new one.. :)

Thanks for sharing your experience. Minelab customer service is absolutely top notch! Anyone that complains about Minelab customer service either has not received any service from Minelab in the past few years or they just had a ridiculous situation in which they wanted Minelab to replace something that was their fault. Thanks for sharing your positive experience. I think more people need to hear about positive interactions with Minelab (and all other manufacturers for that matter). HH -Marc

I agree with you fully...
 
Garrett did that years ago on an Ace 250.
Not as expensive as an Etrac though.
