Minelab CTX3030 sounds and dig videos. (Strange sounds)

Sometimes I get some strange sounds on coins. Here is a fluffy or whupwhup sound of a 5"-6" deep American 1942S Wheat Cent. I believe this coin was on edge or vertical in the ground.

My settings are Ferrous-Coin, Combined, Open screen, fast on, deep off.

Great vid. I wonder what that would have sounded like checked in 50 conductive? Maybe the fluffiness is coming from the target being on the fringe of two of the combined bins?

Interesting video. If it only does that from one direction, oppposed to repeating when you sweep at a 90 degree angle, I'd say it was due to being on edge. Curious.....what was the TID of the Wheat cent AND where are the combined bin parameters set? In other words, is it possible the CO portion of the TID was bouncing between two different tones, not settling long enough on one to lock in the audio. For example, the coin was bouncing between 40 and 42, and your bin "divider" is at 41? JMHO

Ahh that might explain it, I'll check my bins tomorrow.

Would that explain the one I dug Friday that made no tones sound other than the flutter? But read good on the VDI. Even quieter than this one.

That is a great video. Now I know what you meant by the fluffy or whupwhup sounds . What was the TID on the wheat? Thanks for sharing.

On the video I said 12-38, then second check it did jump to 12-42 once.

If it was on the edge it may have been making it hard to detect. That clunking sound is usually the sound you get on a target so deep it is on the fringe.

Hard to explain, but that is the only way I know to tell you.

Was your sensitivity set really low or was it just hard to detect?

Sensitivity is on Auto, and since I know those sounds; my ears pick them up pretty well.
