Well the CTX 3030 ran really well on the beach this morning. I found nothing awesome but it did run smooth. I got in the surf and was impressed. I would still be there but got ran off by the staff trying to set up chairs and umbrellas, ggrrrrr. I will head out earlier tomorrow. I tried the stock Minelab Beach settings and Gone Huntings settings. I found so far that his settings worked best for me.

I am not beach hunter but I am learning!

Bart, I'm curious. Where is that salt water beach at in Oklahoma?

There is not one.... That is why I am so bad at it! lol

Are you hunting a salt water beach. If so how high we're you able to run sensitivity and still stay smooth stable. I have heard of some trouble at the beach bad in the water and breaking waves for sure.

Hope you have fun...

Not sure what was going on today but a certain area of the beach would creating falsing. I will try that area again tomorrow. When I would get away from the area it ran smooth as silk. In the water and out in auto or manual 23. Didn't try to run it any higher, probably should have. Ran Gone Huntings program all day.

Finds... A BILLION pull tabs... 4 screw caps that I couldn't pass up on and had to dig. 3 nickles that banged out hard. Several clad, nothing old. Great day over all and had a blast!

If you don't find any gold your wife's gonna make you sell it.. no pressure...:punch:

My wife always asks if I found her any new jewelery. I usually tell her I found a nice pull tab bracelet for her.

Nothing great today, did find a very odd coin shaped target at 8-9 inches. About half the size of a dime. Awesome depth on something that small. Banged it hard. Have to clean it up to figure out what it might be.

She has been around me long enough she knows how hard it is to find. I think she encourages me to hunt in the water in case I go under. She want the insurance check.

Kidding honey! I know you love me........I think......

First off I have to say thanks to Bart for helping me with the purchase of my CTX 3030, excellent customer service and quick delivery.

I was able to get out on the beach today for the first time since purchasing my machine in January and i had a blast. I used gonehunting's combined settings and the machine ran smooth over the sand of a saltwater beach. I found $1.32 in change in a relatively short timeframe with coins coming from 6-7 inches deep. Nothing old, just a '64 nickel. I would be curious to hear what settings others have been running.
