Have one Coming Soon main Question Is can a Mod be done to add Ground balance Control and would it be feasible to do so. I have owned one Minelab and it was a musketeer long ago and wished I still had it but personal problems forced to sell it and came across this colt and really like the older VLF machines. I mainly want this one for coin Hunting Thanks for any inputs. I own a Tesoro Sidewinder That I use primarily for land hunting and a fisher 1280X for my Water searching would love to have a Minelab1000 for water hunting but Budget want allow it right now

Do a search in the Sovereign/Excalibur forum here on Findmall for "Colt, Musketeer, Advantage, Sterling, Tribune" ANY WORDS, ANY DATE and I bet you'll find the info you are looking for. Try that search in the Modifications forum too.

*IF* I remember right some of those machines had an internal ground balance pot that people were mounting outside the box to tweak in the field, or drilling an access hole into the box to be able to stick a screwdriver in and adjust it.

Also, check out this thread and follow the link. The page it takes you to has tons of fantastic info on those machines. Once on that page it also has a yahoo message forum link if you click on an icon on the right side of the page somewhere, where I bet all your questions can get answered as there appears to be an avid following of those machines. The icon to click on to go to that forum is tricky to find though as it doesn't look like one on the right side of the screen.
